Upper School Math TeacherWILBRAHAM & MONSON ACADEMY6-PG Day and Boarding School located in Wilbraham, Mass.SCHOOL DESCRIPTIONWilbraham & Monson Academy, situated on 300 acres in Western Massachusetts, is an independent day and boarding school of 400 students in grades 6 - postgraduate. As one of the country’s oldest boarding schools, Wilbraham & Monson Academy has been educating global citizens and world leaders since 1804. ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITIESWilbraham & Monson Academy seeks a Math instructor for the 2024-2025 Academic Year and be responsible for:teaching four sections of Upper School Math - with a probable focus on Algebra II and Geometryproviding timely feedback to students plan and post all lessons and assignments to the school’s Learning Management System, Canvas.provide student support during designated office hours each dayserve as an advisor to 4-6 studentsAFTERNOON/ATHLETIC PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES All faculty at Wilbraham & Monson Academy are also expected to participate in our afternoon program for two out of three seasons. This traditionally involves athletic coaching, though other opportunities also exist.RESIDENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES If living on campus, faculty are asked to provide one night a week & one weekend a month of dorm supervision. If living off campus, faculty are asked to provide four weekends a year of activity duty/supervision. QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will be an educator with:A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, equivalent coursework, or relevant fieldMinimum of 2 or more years of successful classroom teaching experienceExperience in a boarding school environmentExperience in working with kids with various abilitiesA demonstrated commitment to diverse populations and student well beingA track record of collaboration with colleaguesABOUT WMA Wilbraham & Monson Academy is an independent coeducational school that offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package featuring generous paid time off, employer retirement (403b) match, health, dental and vision insurance, along with short-term and long-term disability, privately insured paid family medical leave, tuition remission and professional development.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands include dexterity for office machines including but not limited to computers, telephones, electronic calculators, copy machines, and printers.
